The Beginning
As far back as 1996, Hilde started helping to find the pilgrim trail through Tydal. Where would it be located? Later, she started renting out the "summer hut" at Kirkvollen to the wandering pilgrims who started coming.
But Hilde also discovered that people love just being at Kirkvollen and sniffing around the medieval cemetery. She also knows that Kirkvollen has a unique place in Tydal's history. So, in 2017, Hilde and Ingebrigt put their heads together and founded a new company. Before the summer of 2018, they had transformed the "summer hut" into a real Bed & Breakfast with not just one, not two, but five bedrooms and three bathrooms - a historic place for tired drivers and travelers who want to experience a place with soul.
They even added a kitchen for self-catering, because, who doesn't want the opportunity to cook in the middle of the night when hunger strikes? So now you can wake up at Kirkvollen, feel like a pilgrim in your own adventure and cook breakfast in a suitable kitchen.
Hilde and Ingebrigt
Hilde reigns supreme as both guide and cook, while Ingebrigt plays the role of the indispensable cleaner and driver. Hilde's CV is as impressive as her ability to cook great meals. With a master's degree in nature management and a pilgrimage guide course (30 credits) at HINT, she is the one who leads the way – literally. She is also the general manager, which means she has full control over both the trail and the pots. Since 2013, Hilde has led a group of pilgrims to Trondheim every year until 2023. It's as if she has become the pilgrims' invincible guide on their way to Nidaros Cathedral.
Ingebrigt, for his part, likes to call himself "boy" – a title he wears with pride. He has been a farmer, has a background as a field consultant, works for the Arctic Fox and is even a hobby ornithologist. In other words, he not only knows how to drive a tractor, but he can also identify birds by sound – an indispensable skill when you are on a trip with these two.
Together, Hilde and Ingebrigt make a great duo – a dynamic combination of scientific knowledge and a practical approach to life. So, if you want a trip where you not only see amazing landscapes, but also enjoy homemade food and learn about the wonders of nature, just join the adventure with Hilde and Ingebrigt. Just remember not to let Ingebrigt wash the dishes before you have finished eating – he takes his cleanliness seriously!
